Many businesses are already using 3D printers, but consumers are still on a learning curve about what 3D printers can do for them to justify the costs which are still relatively expensive for the average consumer.

Smart Home Products

Consumers want their homes to communicate with them. Over the last few years, there’s been explosive demands by homeowners for smart phones, TVs, appliances, thermostats, lighting controls and security systems. In 2015, sensors will tell you who’s home and who’s not, alert you to necessary household repairs, and even monitor your dental hygiene habits.

Consumers want domestic robots to help around the house for cleaning, laundry, and even companionship. According to market studies, consumer robotic sales could reach $1 billion by 2019. From autonomous drones to friendly household robots, demand is on the rise. Expect to see more advances in robotic vacuums, pet products and household security products.

The ability to track and measure our own health and fitness information is growing. Whether information is gathered through a smart phone or smart watch, consumers are interested in retrieving daily health information like calories consumed, heart rate, blood pressure, walking distances, running speeds, exercise statistics, and body fitness readings.
